Aearath Ayurveda was built on physician-led clinical practice, not the candles, soundscapes, and resort aesthetic that "wellness" has come to mean. What you'll find here is structured assessment, classical diagnostic methods, and care guided by 156 years of accumulated clinical observation.
Aearath Ayurveda’s foundation began in 1869 with Sri Kuttan Vaidhyar, a physician whose practice passed, generation by generation, through his family line for over a century and a half. That kind of lineage is not replicable. A modern wellness centre can source the herbs, hire trained therapists, and build a beautiful facility. It can only be built one generation at a time. Today, that legacy is carried forward by Dr. E. Shaji Raj, BAMS [TNBIM Reg. No. 0454], Chief Physician, with 33 years of practice.
Every assessment begins with Nadi Pariksha (classical pulse diagnosis), a tool that, mastered over decades, reveals constitutional and metabolic patterns that complement modern diagnostic insight. We prepare our own oils and herbal formulations in-house, ensuring authenticity and adherence to classical Ayurvedic methods.
At Aearath Ayurveda, we revive a classical Ayurvedic science for modern care. Arka (Arka Kalpana) is Ayurveda's gentle distillation that captures a herb's most active essence as a clear, quickly-absorbed liquid. It's lighter than decoctions, easier than powders, perfect for today's patients who want ease without the heaviness.

You'll receive personalized guidance and an ongoing care plan, with clear communication throughout, whether you're visiting us in person or consulting online.
Yes. We offer online consultations for patients outside India, with herbal formulations shipped where possible. Many of our patients connect with us remotely and never need to visit Chennai in person.
